Your First Appointment:

Before a patient’s first visit, we ask them to not try anything "new" 24-hours prior to the appointment. We want to see our patients in their natural form, functioning as you would normally every day. This allows us to see how your body moves without any outside variables influencing your abilities or function.

Additional Important Info:

To effectively help you through any current pain or injury, we must understand your medical history. We will want to know of any major surgeries, medical conditions (including cancer), past and current medications, car accidents, and work injuries. If you’ve had X-Rays or any other imaging in the last five years, we will also need to note that information.
Dr. Justin Lewis suggests having a well-rounded understanding of your family’s medical history as well as your own — Knowledge of your direct family’s medical background is vital. Please know if anyone in your immediate family lineage suffers from diabetes, musculoskeletal conditions, neck and back pain, or other relevant symptoms.

Musculoskeletal conditions are critical for us to know about. Musculoskeletal pain affects the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. It can be acute, with a rapid onset with severe symptoms, or chronic and long-lasting. Musculoskeletal pain can be localized in one area or widespread. Lower back pain is the most common type of musculoskeletal pain we see.
We encourage you to attend your session in loose-fitting clothes or activewear to allow for better, guided, unrestricted movement.
Other than this knowledge of your medical history, all you will need to bring to your appointment is your license or ID and your insurance card. The patient should also bring comfortable clothing if you are coming from work or another appointment. Your clothing should allow for a full, normal range of motion during an exam and treatment. Items like jeans would limit possible ranges of motion.
We want to understand your daily routine and experience with Chiropractic care or treatments. If so, we’d like to know what you’ve tried and to what success — from Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, or meeting with your primary care physician. We are also very interested in a person’s job and their normal routine to help identify certain aspects that may affect or inhibit a person’s posture.

Dr. Justin Lewis will also inquire about any recent injuries or accidents you may have had, in addition to your regular exercise routine. He will always allow time for your questions, as well, so please bring any and all questions you may have!
Your first visit with Get Adjusted Chiropractic will start with full medical history forms, so Dr. Justin Lewis has a complete understanding of your medical background and your lifestyle to treat you most appropriately.

The first portion of the appointment will serve as a consultation, where Dr. Justin Lewis will walk you through a series of questions to understand your exercise routine, daily schedule, occupation, among other aspects of your life that may impact your chiropractic health.

Dr. Justin Lewis will give you a comprehensive one-on-one exam and perform several orthopedic tests, a full range of motion assessment, and neurological sensory evaluation. These types of exams allow for a holistic awareness of any painful areas of potential concern.

Dr. Lewis will walk through a mock adjustment before doing the actual adjustment, so our patients understand the motions used before being adjusted. If deemed appropriate for your treatment plan, an adjustment will be performed.
